Leased line for Internet access simply means
renting the dedicated private line between your site
and PILNET. This will provide you a high-speed,
highly reliable Internet connection for your network
users.
PILNET itself connects to a larger scale directly to
the International Carrier. The actual carrier
technology varies according to the distance between
the site and ISP and other factors, but generally,
connectivity is priced and sold according to
bandwidth.
PILNET could provide you speed range from 64kbps
to 45mbps or higher.

PILNET'S Frame Relay is a world-wide managed
service designed to handle fluctuating volumes of
traffic efficiently, securely and cost-effectively,
making it ideal for connecting local area networks
(LANs).
Our Frame Relay is an international, end-to-end,
managed data networking service carrying data at
rates of up to 45 Mbit/s. It is ideal for
interconnecting LANs because it is designed to
handle the 'bursty' or fluctuating traffic patterns
generated by people sending electronic mail (email)
or exchanging files. It can carry voice traffic, and
supports client-server applications too.

Is a modem technology that uses existing
twisted-pair telephone lines to transport
high-bandwidth data, such as multimedia and video,
to service subscriber. A DSL circuit is much faster
than a regular phone connection, and the wires
coming into the subscriber's premises are the same
(copper) wires used for regular phone service. A DSL
circuit must be configured to connect two specific
locations, similar to a leased line (however a DSL
circuit is not a leased line.)
A common configuration of DSL allows downloads at
speeds of up to 1.544 megabits (not megabytes) per
second, and uploads at speeds of 128 kilobits per
second.
DSL is now a popular alternative to Leased Lines
and ISDN, being faster than ISDN and less costly
than traditional Leased Lines. |
